Australian Bird paintings

During one of my travels through the outback of Australia, I was asked why I never painted birds. I didn’t want to mix my hobby, watching birds, with my work. Until one of the girls who traveled with us came running out of the bush with a bloody forehead. Attacked by an Australian Magpie! For me a sign that evolution was taking a turn at the moment that birds started to take on humanity and, even a link within the theme I have been working on for years, the theory of evolution. From that moment on, I paint the birds with a haze of dripping paint, the passing time between the moment I saw them and the moment I painted them. I capture them in a recognizable way so that evolutionary differences in a hundred years can be noticed through my paintings. It is my aim to capture all the bird species I have seen in Australia.
